About This Blog

One of Robert Frost’s finest poems begins:

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood…”

This short, powerful poem has resonated with me for decades. It’s hard for me to choose just one road.

My life has focused on several major themes, with countless minor, transient ones phasing in and out. Rather than a highway system or choice of roads, it’s almost easier to think of it as a solar system, with planets in regular orbit and the occasional comet, meteor, nova or other bit of celestial detritus to lighten the sky.

Yet I’m not a solar system; I’m jovial, but not jovian. I’m one traveler, and like it or not walk one road, the road of my one life. It’s not so bad, really–and quite a lot of fun, most of the time! But it is a lot to keep track of sometimes, and as for explaining myself, well, I’ve largely given up on trying. Perhaps this blog will help with that part of it.

I hope to use this blog to share and comment on the many things that interest me, not excluding organ music. I hope you find some things in it that you will enjoy.

Thanks for visiting.
